Sharx Tank – Jump Start Your Business and Pitch to Investors

The National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia (NAWEM) was founded on the belief that the full realisation of the human potential is limited only by the acquisition of skills and knowledge, and the availability of information and opportunity. NAWEM also recognises the need to inspire its members to stimulate businesses, and the need for cohesiveness in forging business relationships. Indeed, our goal by 2020 is for NAWEM to be an active catalyst for growth, development and enhancement of women in business as well as a motivating force to provide leadership and support to all Malaysians.

As part of this mission, NAWEM with SME Corp, as the main collaborator is organizing the NAWEM Sharx Tank 2016: Premier Program will be held on 20 October 2016, with the NAWEM Sharx Tank: Pitching Day on 7 November 2016.
Venue is at Dewan Perdana, Platinum Sentral, SME Corp.

In the Premier Program, women entrepreneurs will be exposed to various non-institutional investment mechanisms currently available in Malaysia that can potentially be tapped into to grow their businesses. These mechanisms include exposure to angel investors, private equity funds, and crowdsourcing. Additionally, attendees will be introduced to panel investors who are looking to invest in businesses led by women, and on how they assess investment applications.

Attendees in the Premier Program will be eligible to submit an investment application to these investors for consideration on the Pitching Day. Applications that are shortlisted will be invited to pitch directly to panel investors, with investment deals that can range from seed funding for as low as RM10,000 up to Series A funding of RM2 million or beyond to potentially RM50 million depending on the need and maturity of the businesses shortlisted.

The program fee will be:
