Tribute To Women Of Excellence

SME Corp. Malaysia in collaboration with MSP Communications Sdn. Bhd. had successfully organised the Tribute to Women Business Forum and Hi Tea which was held at The Royale Chulan Hotel on 7 April 2014. The drive behind conceptualising the event was founded on the need to identify women of influence, with insights, ideas and innovative solutions; provide them a platform to share their knowledge and experience, and celebrate their achievements of the past, present and future.

Themed ' To Honour Women of Substance: The Past, The Present, The Future', the Forum brought to the fore three sets of generation will share ideas on how we aspire to accomplish three objectives: Appreciate and honour women’s roles and contributions towards progress and development of their family, society and nation building; Honour women who have excelled in their fields and made significant contributions to the nation in Education, Science & Technology, Business Entrepreneur, Arts & Culture, Humanitarian and Sports; and Salute corporations whose policies and practices encourage high achievement by women and who promote equal advancement opportunities to women of diverse background.

The Forum brought together women from diverse backgrounds to cover philanthropy, technology, business, media, retail and various other sectors of the economy. More than 500 of these accomplished women convened to empower, educate, motivate and honour their peers (their kind) for their potential to succeed in their personal and professional lives. One of the key aims of the Forum was to facilitate exchange of information or knowledge to help the participating women explore and avail business, financial and career opportunities. Through Tribute to Women - Malaysia Business Forum and Hi-Tea, an effective dialogue had taken place to prepare and inspire women to take their next plunge towards their bigger and greater goals in life.

In conjunction with this event, “Tribute to Women” Royal Silent Charity Auction had also been held. The auction was for two paintings by DYMM Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah. The “Tribute to Women” Royal Silent Charity Auction was Raja zarith Sofia’s tribute to women, as she overwhelmingly put it, “they were painted with passion and love...”. The sub-event was jointly organised by MSP Communications, SME Corp. Malaysia and The Balai Seni Visual Negara Kuala Lumpur (National Visual Arts Gallery) earlier ending 25 April 2014.

The “Tribute to Women” Royal Silent Charity Auction was in aid of three charity bodies; Malaysia National Council of Children (MKMM), International Women Heritage Vision (WARISTA) and Persatuan Kebajikan Ibu Tunggal Syuhada Cheras. The fund raised would serve to help their programs and activities that honour, empower and respect the less fortunate and battered women and women in need of medical attention.

The two highest bidders for the two paintings were invited to receive the paintings personally from DYMM Tuanku Raja Zarith at the Tribute to Women Business Forum and Hi-Tea event. It is hoped that the effort would be alongside the beneficiaries’ mission to raise philanthropic support and care for all in need.
