tinoti1

Tanoti Sdn. Bhd. is an establishment based in Kuching that essentially devotes its resources to empower indigenous communities especially the Penan and Iban through weaving craft. As these communities are still practicing ancient craft of weaving, Tanoti took it upon itself to preserve this heritage craft through production of its hand-crafted items by integrating these communities into its supply chain. This initiative came to fruition when Tanoti won Malaysia Good Design Award in 2023 for its rattan made pouf, a bespoke item produced by Penan artisans residing in Long Kawi village along Patah River in Baram region. Through these sorts of initiatives driven by Tanoti, these remote forest communities could avail themselves of sustainable income generating opportunities.
