BACKGROUND
The 1-InnoCERT (Innovation Certification for Enterprise Rating and Transformation) certification programme was introduced by SME Corp. Malaysia and SIRIM as implementing partners since 2010. This 1-InnoCERT certification programme aims to encourage and develop innovative companies in Malaysia as approved by the National Innovation Coordination Action Committee and the National Innovation Council.
The 1-InnoCERT certification awarded will identify and certify innovative companies through internationally recognized innovation standards. A total of 163 companies have received this 1-InnoCERT certification since 2010.
In 2024, SME Corp. Malaysia introduced the MyInnoCERT Programme, which is more user-friendly and easier for companies to make self-assessment to know the level of innovation of the Company, increase the level of innovation and encourage growth among SMEs through capacity development programme.
OBJECTIVES
- To recognize the innovation capacity and capability among the SMEs;
- Opportunity to participate in the capacity building programmes such as ESG and digitalization as well as access to technical advisory services as benefit(s) under MyInnoCERT assessment; and
- Access to facilitation (including financial and non-financial assistance) to increase the level of innovation among SMEs through collaboration with other agencies and international organizations to complete the innovation landscape in Malaysia.
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
- Companies registered with Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) / Registration of Business (ROB) or Trade Licensing Ordinance for Sabah & Sarawak;
- The company has been in operation for at least two (2) years, and have at least one (1) complete 12-month of audited financial statements;
- MSME Status Certification (click);
- Must be 3-Star SCORE rating; and
- None of the shareholders or directors in the company are involved with any activities in violation of Malaysian Laws.
