Based in Kuching Sarawak, Fly Technology Agriculture was founded upon realization of the poor food management which leads to spoilage and ultimately drives food waste. Fly Tech embraces a revolutionary solution to food waste via Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Farming. BSF farming embodies circular economy. BSF larvae feeds on organic waste such as leftover food, etc which then becomes valuable source of protein for poultry, fish and even pet food. As BSF larvae feasts on organic waste, the dependence on landfill and other environmental issues are significantly reduced. While working with the community to promote awareness on food waste, Fly Tech stumbled upon the abundant supply of agricultural resources which were neglected and underutilized such as banana fruit. From there, Fly Tech designed a programme which soon became a community project to stimulate the agriculture activity of the rural community which leads to sustainable agricultural production and equitable returns. As a result, they improved the economic status of the community as they are now earning an extra income as banana chip suppliers to Fly Tech.
