On December 17, 2018, the Launching Ceremony of a "Whitepaper on SME Digitalisation" was held at St Regis Hotel, KL Sentral. Previously on November 9, 2017, SME Corp. Malaysia and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). One of the collaboration initiatives under the MoU is the preparation of a study for the publication of "Whitepaper on SME Digitalisation". It aims to gain insight on the readiness of SMEs in digital economy which includes eCommerce use, challenges and opportunities, as well as support in terms of policy, infrastructure and development in digitalisation. The Launching Ceremony was graced by YB Datuk Wira Dr. Mohd. Hatta Ramli, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development.
The preparation of the "Whitepaper" entitled "Accelerating Malaysian Digital SMEs: Escaping the Computerisation Trap" is a collaboration between SME Corp. Malaysia, Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., University of Consortia (UC) and a team consultants of International Data Cooperation (IDC). This report is the result of the "2018 Digitalisation Survey for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)" conducted by SME Corp. Malaysia while the "Whitepaper" preparation work has been done by UC and IDC. |
