Capitalise On Government Facilities To Increase Income

TAPAH, April 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysians need to work and capitalise on the various benefits provided by the government to increase their income which will be in line with the country's aim to become a developed nation in four years.

Second Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, said the efforts to increase the income were important so that Malaysians could face the rising cost of living now.

"We need to increase the income so that when cost increases, it would not become an issue," Ahmad Husni said this to reporters after officiating the Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF) Entrepreneur Symposium here Saturday.

He said one of the sectors which had vast opportunities for Malaysians to increase the earnings was entrepreneurship.

"Various facilities were available for those interested to be entrepreneurs, among them the special programes for Bumiputeras like Bumipreneurs of Tomorrow; Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd; SME Corp Malaysia and Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre," he said.

He said individuals who participated in the entrepreneurship schemes needed to have long-term plan and not to be satisfied with only results obtained overnight.

Ahmad Husni also said the entrepreneurs would also benefit from ASEAN Community and the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement platforms to widen their businesses.

The symposium, themed 'Youth Entrepreneurship in Social Media Era', is sponsored by Permodalan Nasional Bhd in conjunction with Malaysia Unit Trust Week 2016.
