Lazada Malaysia – Now #EveryoneCanSell!

Malaysia’s largest online market place, Lazada has made plenty of headway into pioneering and pushing the boundaries of the digital shopping experience in the South East Asian region – especially Malaysia. The goal? To push Malaysia’s digital economy into new heights of course. It only makes sense, digital is the future.

In that sense Malaysia’s online shopping economy is thriving stronger than ever. More people are shopping online now than before and the fact that Lazada is Malaysia’s fifth most visited site is a testament to how much Malaysians shop online – especially on Lazada. Of course Lazada is not the only online market place in Malaysia and that is also something to consider – if there are already so many people on Lazada, what about other platforms.

With the boom in online shopping as well there is an inevitable increase in the demand for digital entrepreneurs. The increasing demand for the variety of things you can find in online marketplaces also opens up plenty of room for online entrepreneurs to not just grow, but to innovate. That is why Lazada is making it easier and more ideal for online sellers with their new #EveryoneCanSell programme.

So, what is it? The #EveryoneCanSell programme, in Lazada’s words is a fully integrated e-commerce programme to encourage the growth of local Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). In theory it should help you, as an online merchant understand your business environment better. The programme seeks to not just educate online merchants regarding the business side of things but also to provide the necessary tools and solutions to propel their businesses to greater heights.

For this programme Lazada has formed a partnership with SME Corp Malaysia, Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) , Maybank, and Telekom Malaysia (TM). Lazada hopes that this programme would bring more than 50,000 new merchants to the marketplace by 2018. That will also contribute to Malaysia’s aim to double Malaysia’s eCommerce growth from 10.8% to 20.8% by the year 2020.

Lazada and its partners in the #EveryoneCanSell programme hopes to enhance their support for SMEs to move into the digital environment. They hope that this programme would make digital transformations and transitions for SMEs more seamless in the sense that they do not lose their competitiveness.. This programme is also a perfect platform for asipiring merchants to be able to participate in Lazada’s upcoming Online Revolution 2017 later in November.  For more information regarding the #EveryoneCanSell programme can be found here in their website. Press release after the break.
