KUALA LUMPUR: As many as 2,651 merchants have been listed on the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) e-commerce platforms, more than the targeted 1,500, said International Trade and Industry Minister II Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan.
He said it was a way to get more export into China with Matrade and SMECorp being tasked to help Malaysians get listed.
“Matrade will give RM5,000 in facilitation fund to each merchant to be listed on the platform and if they need training, we will also help them with that, so that they can sell Malaysian products,” he said after the launch of the Malaysia-China cross-border e-commerce sharing platform yesterday.
The e-commerce platform is an online multichannel and resource-sharing platform to assist Malaysian SMEs to participate in the development of e-commerce between Malaysia and China.
Last year, Malaysia achieved a total trade of RM1.77 trillion, Ong said.
