THE pandemic has impacted many businesses, resulting in people looking for alternatives to help keep them afloat. The Malaysian government has provided a digital platform called MalaysiaBiz Portal to help business communities remain sustainable and competitive.

The MalaysiaBiz Portal is a convenient way to register your business and apply for the relevant licences. It was developed by the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), Prime Minister's Department, SME Corp. Malaysia, and the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC).

It's a faster and easier way for people to register a business and apply for licences through a single gateway, as opposed to previously, when business communities had to access the various agencies' portals.

The government's continuous improvement of online services will help citizens and business communities adapt to the new norm. People can obtain relevant services online away from crowded service counters, which may be prone to COVID-19 infections.

The MalaysiaBiz Portal also provides business data buying facilities from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). Through the e-Support menu provided by the portal, applicants can submit and track their enquiries about any matters related to business registration and lisensing.

This interactive and user-friendly portal will be able to facilitate the starting up of businesses by business communities. Thus, the MalaysiaBiz Portal is an embodiment of the Malaysian Government's continuous initiative to provide quality services to the rakyat, especially the business communities.
