ENTREPRENEUR Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof (picture) will lead a Malaysian delegation to the Aeromart event in Nagoya, Japan, from Sept 24-26.
The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED), in a statement yesterday, said the Aeromart-Nagoya 2019 is a platform for business-to-business meetings that focus on the aerospace industry and supply chain.
Mohd Redzuan will be accompanied by MED deputy secretary general (policy and strategic planning) Dr Anis Mahmud and senior officials from SME Corp Malaysia.
“Japan’s aerospace generates an annual revenue of US$18 billion (RM75.24 billion) and Japan is currently playing a central role in the development of leading commercial aircraft,” said MED.
It said five Malaysian companies will be participating in the Aeromart-Nagoya 2019 to explore opportunities to be part of the Japanese aerospace supply chain, spearheaded by SME Corp, under the Aerospace Manufacturing Initiative.
They are Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association, Sapura Aerospace Technologies Sdn Bhd, Kaizan Aero Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, and Inter-Excel Advisory Sdn Bhd.
MED said the working visit also entails meetings organised by Aichi Prefectural with the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies, Aichi-Nagoya Aerospace Consortium, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd to discuss potential investment opportunities for the production of Japanese aircraft sub components in Malaysia.
