KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — A total of 2,540 business matching sessions have been conducted through the MyAssist MSME platform with a potential sales value of RM904 million since the platform was launched on June 30, 2021.
Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Saraswathy Kandasami said the sum involved a total of 3,083 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with 259 foreign companies.
She said MyAssist MSME was developed by the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry through SME Corp. It is an online one-stop business advisory service platform aimed at facilitating the acquisition of information for MSME entrepreneurs about programmes offered by entrepreneurship development agencies.
“This platform also provides online advisory services from business counsellors (MeetMe) and business matching services for entrepreneurs. As of October 2023, 1.2 million visitors and virtual users from all over the country have been recorded through the MyAssist MSME platform.
“In addition, a total of 11,724 MeetMe advisory service slots have been provided and benefitted 713 MSMEs,” she said during a question-and-answer session at the Dewan Negara today.
She was replying to a question from Senator Datuk Seri Zurainah Musa who wanted to know the impact of the ‘online one-stop business advisory’ programme under MYAssist MSME.
To increase awareness of MyAssist MSME among micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, the ministry through SME Corp took several initiatives including providing facilities to browse MyAssist MSME through a smartphone application that can be downloaded via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, Saraswathy said.
“We also provide an advisory service counter during exhibition programmes or entrepreneurship programmes held by the ministry and its agencies such as the Showcase Satu Daerah Satu Industri (SDSI) and MSME Week to give direct explanations about MyAssist MSME and promote the platform through the SME Corp website and official social media,” — Bernama
